Draft Action Plan for Agriculture Development in Brcko District Finalised
The Draft Action Plan for Agriculture Development in Brcko District of BiH was finalised, through the completed consultation process with the local actors from agricultural sector, which included workshops and direct interviews. This document is an operational plan for the implementation of developed Strategy for Agriculture, Food-Processing Industry and Rural Development of Brcko District for the next five years period.
Within the consultation process with the main actors, the consensus was achieved for 70 projects, which are ranked as priority actions for the improvement of situation in the agricultural sector in this area. These projects have been included in a final draft of the Action Plan. Projects are related to the following sectors: plants production, animal husbandry, food-processing industry and rural development. In addition, projects for the improvement of legal and institutional framework for this sector in Brcko District of BiH have been developed.
It is expected that the adoption of this document and its future implementation will create conditions for the improvement of situation in this strategic sector of the Brcko District economy, and will lead to the achievement of goals defined in the five-year Development Strategy for this sector.
